C1776
SUSPENSION CONTROL: ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM: C1776: Speed Sensor Circuit
DTC C1776 - Speed Sensor Circuit
DESCRIPTION
- The speed sensor detects the wheel speed and transmits the appropriate vehicle speed signal to the absorber control ECU through the skid control ECU via CAN communication system.
- This DTC (C1776) is output if any malfunction exists in the speed sensor FR, FL, RR, or RL system.
WIRING DIAGRAM
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the absorber control ECU, check the acceleration sensor signal after replacement Test Mode Procedure.
HINT:
- Check the condition of each related circuit connector before troubleshooting Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
- When C1774 is output, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by C1774 first C1774.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Check if any speed sensor DTCs (Brake control system trouble code: C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210/33, C0215/34, C1235/35, C1236/36, C1238/38, C1239/39) or a CAN communication DTC (U0122) is output together with DTC C1776.
Result
C -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
A -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (VEHICLE SPEED)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on and turn the Techstream main switch on.
(c) Select "DATA LIST" mode on Techstream Adaptive Variable Suspension System.
Absorber control ECU
(d) Check that there is no difference between the speed value output from the skid control ECU displayed on Techstream and the speed value displayed on the speedometer when driving the vehicle.
OK:
The speed value output from the skid control ECU displayed on Techstream is the same as the actual vehicle speed.
NG -- CHECK BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM (SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Adaptive Variable Suspension System.
(b) Perform a road test.
(c) Check if the same DTC is recorded Adaptive Variable Suspension System.

C -- END
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT INSPECTION PROCEDURE SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- REPLACE ABSORBER CONTROL ECU
