C1777
SUSPENSION CONTROL: ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM: C1777: Steering Angle Sensor Circuit
DTC C1777 - Steering Angle Sensor Circuit
DESCRIPTION
- The steering angle sensor detects the amount and direction of steering wheel movement and inputs these details to the absorber control ECU via CAN communication.
- The fail-safe function prohibits roll posture control if any malfunction occurs in the steering angle sensor circuit Fail-Safe Chart.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
- Check the condition of each related circuit connector before troubleshooting Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
- When C1774 is output, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by C1774 first C1774.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Clear the DTC Adaptive Variable Suspension System.
(b) Turn the power switch OFF.
(c) Turn the power switch ON (IG) again and check that no CAN communication system DTC is output.
(d) Turn the power switch ON (READY).
(e) Drive the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right and left at a speed of 24 mph (35 km/h), and check which DTC is output Adaptive Variable Suspension System and Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
Result
C -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR INPUT VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the K19 steering angle sensor connector.
(b) Turn the power switch ON (IG).
(c) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:
(d) Turn the power switch OFF.
(e) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:
Result
C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
