P0AAC

HYBRID BATTERY CONTROL: HYBRID BATTERY SYSTEM: P0AAC-123: Hybrid Battery Pack Air Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit

DTC P0AAC-123 - Hybrid Battery Pack Air Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit

DESCRIPTION
- The intake air temperature sensor (battery) is mounted on the HV battery. The resistance of the sensor varies in accordance with changes in the intake air temperature. The characteristics of the intake air temperature sensor are the same as those of the battery temperature sensor. P0A9D The battery smart unit uses signals from the intake air temperature sensor to control the air volume of the battery cooling blower assembly.

HINT: After confirming that DTC P0AAC is output, use the Techstream to check "Inhaling Air Temp" in the HV ECU data list.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system, take safety precautions such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
- After disconnecting the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals.
HINT: Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (DTC P0A1F-123 IS OUTPUT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
DTC P0A1F-123 is output.
YES -- GO TO INSPECTION PROCEDURE RELEVANT TO OUTPUT DTC
NO -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Remove the service plug grip. Removal

(b) Remove the luggage compartment trim cover front. Removal

(c) Disconnect the frame wire. Removal

(d) Remove the battery bracket sub-assembly. Removal

(e) Check the connection of connector z13 of the battery smart unit.
OK:
The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.
HINT: The intake air temperature sensor is not available separately. If it requires replacement, replace the HV battery.

NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HV BATTERY (INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Disconnect connector z13 from the battery smart unit.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

(c) Disconnect connector N2 from the battery smart unit.

(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):

(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for short):

NG -- REPLACE HV BATTERY
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
