P2519
L110 HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P2519-766: A/C Request "A" Circuit
DTC P2519-766 - A/C Request "A" Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The hybrid vehicle converter sends IDH signals to the hybrid vehicle control ECU to inform the ECU of the cooling fan operation condition and the output current limitation condition due to overheating.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
- Before inspecting the high-voltage system or disconnecting the low voltage connector of the inverter with converter assembly, take safety precautions such as wearing insulated gloves and removing the service plug grip to prevent electrical shocks. After removing the service plug grip, put it in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are working on the high-voltage system.
- After disconnecting the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals. After waiting, check the voltage at the inspection point in the inverter with converter assembly. The voltage should be 0 V before beginning work.
HINT: Waiting for at least 10 minutes is required to discharge the high-voltage capacitor inside the inverter with converter assembly.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(c) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
(d) Check if DTCs are output.
Result:
DTC P0AE6-225 is also output.
YES -- GO TO INSPECTION PROCEDURE RELEVANT TO OUTPUT DTC
NO -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Turn the power switch off and remove the service plug grip L110 Hybrid Vehicle Control System.
NOTE: After removing the service plug grip, do not turn the power switch on (READY), unless instructed by the repair procedure because this may cause a malfunction.
(b) Connect an oscilloscope between the battery smart unit terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.
Result:
The waveform appears as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
- For the removal and installation procedures related to inspection of the waveform of the battery smart unit, Components.
- The frequency of the waveform differs according to operation conditions of the cooling fan of the hybrid vehicle converter.
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK BATTERY SMART UNIT
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
(c) Disconnect connector N1 from the hybrid vehicle converter.
(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER
NG -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY SMART UNIT - HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERTER)
CAUTION: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
(a) Turn the power switch off.
(b) Check that the service plug grip is not installed.
(c) Disconnect connector N2 from the battery smart unit.
(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NOTE: Turning the power switch on (IG) with the battery smart unit connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
(f) Turn the power switch off.
(g) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance (Check for open):
Standard resistance (Check for short):
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE BATTERY SMART UNIT
