P311 HYBRID TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
After the power switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT Removal

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal

5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER Removal

6. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Removal

7. REMOVE HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the washer hose.





(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 stop rings along the groove.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Release the 2 ball joints and separate the 2 hood support assemblies from the hood sub-assembly.

(d) Remove the 4 bolts and hood sub-assembly.

39. TEMPORARILY INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Removal

40. DISCONNECT LOW VOLTAGE CONNECTOR Removal

41. REMOVE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY Removal

42. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

43. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE Removal

44. REMOVE INVERTER BRACKET ASSEMBLY Removal

45. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

46. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE Removal

47. DISCONNECT NO. 3 INVERTER COOLING HOSE Removal

48. DISCONNECT NO. 5 INVERTER COOLING HOSE Removal

49. DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE Removal

50. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE Removal

51. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Pull up the lever and disconnect the connector of the hybrid vehicle control ECU.





(b) Disconnect the 3 clamps.





(c) Disconnect the 2 connectors and 2 clamps from the engine room junction block and disconnect the wire harness.





(d) Remove the bolt and disconnect the earth wire.





(e) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(f) Disconnect the 4 connectors, 7 clamps and 3 bolts.





HINT
When removing clamp A, disengage it from the motor cable.

(g) Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.





(h) Remove the bolt and heater hose bracket.





52. DISCONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING HOSE

(a) Disconnect the clamp and No. 1 motor cooling hose.

53. DISCONNECT NO. 2 MOTOR COOLING HOSE

(a) Disconnect the clamp and No. 2 motor cooling hose.

54. REMOVE OIL COOLER UNION SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube clamp.





(b) Remove the union bolt, gasket and oil cooler union sub-assembly.

55. REMOVE OIL COOLER INLET TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube clamp.





(b) Using a union nut wrench (17 mm) and a wrench, disconnect the oil cooler inlet tube sub-assembly.

56. SECURE STEERING WHEEL Removal

57. REMOVE COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET Removal

58. SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

59. SEPARATE NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

60. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal

61. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

62. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT LH Removal

63. REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT RH

(a) Install the 2 engine hangers with the 2 bolts.

Torque : 38 Nm (387 kgf-cm, 28 ft-lbf)





(b) Attach the sling device to the engine hangers and chain block.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front engine mounting insulator from the front cross member sub-assembly.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and front cross member sub-assembly.





84. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR Removal

85. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR Removal

86. SUPPORT HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Support the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly with a transmission jack.

87. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

(a) Remove the bolt and nut, and separate the engine mounting insulator LH.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH.





88. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 9 bolts and hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.





NOTICE:
To avoid damage to the knock pins, do not pry the connecting portion of the hybrid transaxle and the engine.

89. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.





90. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket.





91. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER

(a) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts, clip and automatic transmission case cover.





(c) Remove the automatic transmission case cover.





92. REMOVE HYBRID TRANSAXLE MASS DAMPER

(a) Remove the hybrid transaxle mass damper and gasket.





93. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE BRACKET

(a) Disconnect the 2 clamps.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts and motor cable bracket.
