RA62 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX Removal

9. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX DUCT Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 SHIFT AND SELECT LEVER BOOT

(a) Disconnect the 4 wire harness clips.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 shift and select lever boot.





11. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER CAP

(a) Turn over the shift lever dust cover.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts and shift lever cap.

12. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

13. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH Removal

14. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH Removal

15. REMOVE NO. 1 BODY MOUNTING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

16. REMOVE NO. 1 BODY MOUNTING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

17. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER Removal

18. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSMISSION OIL Replacement

19. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY

Removal.

20. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

Removal.

21. REMOVE FRONT NO. 6 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 3 nuts and front No. 6 floor heat insulator.





22. SEPARATE CLUTCH ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and nut, and separate the clutch accumulator assembly.





23. SEPARATE CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the clutch release cylinder assembly.





24. DISCONNECT GROUND CABLE

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground cable.





25. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS

(a) Disconnect the back-up light switch connector and clamp, and separate the wire harness.





26. REMOVE NO. 1 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 clutch housing cover.





27. REMOVE NO. 2 CLUTCH HOUSING COVER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and No. 2 clutch housing cover.





28. SEPARATE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Put matchmarks on the clutch cover assembly and the flywheel sub-assembly.

(b) Loosen each set bolt one turn at a time until spring tension is released.

(c) Remove the 6 bolts and separate the clutch cover assembly.

29. SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT CONTROL SHIFT LEVER RETAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and separate the floor shift control shift lever retainer sub-assembly.





30. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn over the shift and select lever boot.





(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the E-ring and floor shift lever assembly.

(c) Remove the washer from the floor shift lever assembly.

(d) Remove the 2 bushings from the floor shift lever assembly.





31. SUPPORT MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

(a) Support the manual transmission with a transmission jack.





32. REMOVE ENGINE REAR MOUNTING MEMBER

(a) Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and engine rear mounting member.





33. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

(a) Tilt the manual transmission downward.

NOTICE:
Take care not to allow the rear of the engine assembly to contact with the body.

(b) Remove the 9 bolts and manual transmission assembly.





NOTICE:
Do not apply excessive force to the transmission assembly as this will break the input shaft.

34. REMOVE CLUTCH RELEASE FORK SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

35. REMOVE CLUTCH DISC ASSEMBLY Removal

36. REMOVE CLUTCH COVER ASSEMBLY

37. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and rear No. 1 engine mounting insulator.





38. REMOVE TRANSMISSION UPPER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and transmission upper cover sub-assembly.
