INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

21. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH Removal

24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX ASSEMBLY (w/o Ashtray) Removal

34. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal

39. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

(a) Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.





(b) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

(c) Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.





41. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

42. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.





43. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

44. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the garnish from the base of the 2 clips.





HINT
Make the front pillar garnish LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.

(b) Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.





NOTICE:
* Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
* Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.

(c) Disengage the guide at the front end of the front pillar garnish LH and remove it.

(d) Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.





(1) Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

76. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

(a) Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.





(b) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

(c) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the the rear door scuff plate LH.





77. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

78. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER LH

(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover LH.





79. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt assembly LH.





80. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and 5 clips, and remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.





81. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH

(a) Remove the 2 screws.





(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the center pillar garnish LH by pulling it down.

82. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front seat belt anchor cover sub-assembly.





83. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

84. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Remove the bolt and separate the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

85. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

86. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH

(a) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the rear seat side garnish LH.

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and claw, and remove the roof side inner garnish LH.

(a) Remove the screw and coat hook.





HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the hook on the other side.

96. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.





HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

HINT
Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.

97. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.





HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.

98. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.





99. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

100. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

(a) Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.





HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.

101. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)

(a) Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.





(b) Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

(c) Disengage the hook, 10 claws and 2 clips.





(d) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.





102. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)

(a) Disconnect the roof wire connector and disengage each clamp from the front pillar LH.





(b) Disconnect each connector from the map light assembly.

(c) Disengage the hook, 10 claws, 8 fasteners and 2 clips.





(d) Remove the roof headlining assembly from the vehicle through the front right door.





103. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING PAD

(a) Remove the 2 roof headlining pads.





104. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof)

(a) Remove the No. 1 roof silencer pad.





105. REMOVE CENTER ROOF SILENCER PAD (w/o Sliding Roof)

(a) Remove the center roof silencer pad.





106. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING PAD LH (w/o Sliding Roof)

(a) Remove the 2 roof headlining pads LH.

(a) Remove the 2 rear roof silencer pads.

(a) Remove the rear No. 2 side rail spacer LH.

(a) Remove the 2 No. 2 roof headlining pads.





113. REMOVE VANITY LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the claw [A] and separate the bulb holder from the vanity light, as shown in the illustration.





(b) Disengage the claw [B] and remove the vanity light assembly.

HINT
Use the same procedure to remove the light on the other side.

114. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF WIRE

(a) Remove the double-sided tape and roof wire.
