Front Floor Console Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the rear storage compartment from the front floor console.
3. Remove the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement (Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement) .
4. Remove the shift control lever and indicator bezel. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement.
5. Remove the rear bolts from the front of the floor console in the rear storage compartment.
6. Remove the center bolts front floor console at the transaxle shift lever mounting bracket.
7. Remove the front bolts from the front floor console.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
9. Pull the front floor console rearward in order to release the console from the guide pins in the instrument panel (IP).
10. Remove the front floor console from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the front floor console to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Align the front floor console to the guide pins in the instrument panel.
4. Push the front floor console forward into the IP until the console guide pins are fully seated.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
5. Install the front floor console center bolts at the transaxle shift lever mounting bracket.
Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
6. Install the front floor console rear bolts in the rear storage compartment.
Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
7. Install the front bolts to the front floor console.
Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
8. Install the shift control lever and the indicator bezel. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement.
9. Install the front floor console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement (Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement) .
10. Install the rear storage compartment to the front floor console.
11. Connect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
