Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


Removal Procedure





1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement) in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Rear Seat Back Replacement) in Seats.
3. Remove the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe) (Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe))Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) (Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)) .
4. Remove the coat hook from the quarter upper trim by pulling out the retainer using a small, flat-bladed tool.
5. Remove the front seat belt, shoulder harness bolt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (4 Door), Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (2 Door).
6. Remove the side rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Coupe), Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Sedan).




7. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel by disengaging the push-in retainers using J 38778 .
8. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel from the rear quarter inner panel.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the rear quarter upper trim panel to the rear quarter inner panel.
2. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel by pressing into place until fully seated.




3. Align the coat hook to the hole in the rear quarter upper trim panel. Press in the coat hook retainer until fully seated.
4. Install the side rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Coupe), Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Sedan).
5. Install the rear quarter lower trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe) (Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe))Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) (Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)) .
6. Install the front seat belt, shoulder harness bolt. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (4 Door), Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front (2 Door).
7. Install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Rear Seat Back Replacement) in Seats.
8. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement (Rear Seat Cushion Replacement) in Seats.
