Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair



Window Regulator Replacement - Rear Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.




4. Remove the bolts (1)
5. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.




6. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the power window motor by pulling out on the tab (1).




7. Loosen the bolt to the window regulator motor (3).
8. Lift the motor free of the retaining slot.
9. Remove the bolts from the door window regulator (4) in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3).
10. Remove the window regulator and motor from the door.
11. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .



Installation Procedure





1. Pre-start the bolts specified sequence (1, 2, 3 to the new window regulator and motor.
2. Install the power window motor to the window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Position the window regulator and motor into the locating slots of the inner door panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.


Important: In order to ensure proper orientation of the window regulator to the door, tighten the window regulator bolts in the specified sequence (1,2,3).


4. Install the window regulator and motor bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3) to the door.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the power window motor by pushing in on the tab (1).




6. Remove the masking tape.
7. Lower the rear door window far enough in order to gain access to the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.
8. Install the bolts (1) that attach the window to the regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

9. Inspect the window for proper operation.
10. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
