3MZ-FE INTAKE: INTAKE MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD






(a) Install the intake manifold with the 9 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 washers. Using several steps, tighten the bolts and nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 15 Nm (153 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the 6 fuel injector connectors.
(c) Install the ground cable with the nut.
Torque: 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)
2. CONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE






(a) Connect the inlet heater water hose.
3. CONNECT FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Align the quick connector with the pipe, then push in the quick connector until the retainer makes a "click" sound to connect the fuel hose to the fuel pipe.

NOTE:
- Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting surfaces of the quick connector and pipe before this work.
- After connecting the fuel pipe, confirm that it is securely connected by pulling the quick connector.

(b) Install the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.
4. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK
(a) Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.






(b) Using a socket hexagon wrench 8 mm, install the intake air surge tank with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts. Using several steps, tighten the bolts and nuts uniformly in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Torque: 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)
(c) Connect the ground cable connector.






(d) Install the No. 2 surge tank stay (A) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
(e) Install the No. 1 surge tank stay (B) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)
(f) Install the No. 1 engine hunger (C) with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)






(g) Connect the ventilation hose.






(h) Connect the fuel vapor feed hose (A).
(i) Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose (B).
(j) Connect the No. 2 water by-pass hose (C).
(k) Connect the throttle motor connector (D).
5. INSTALL EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SET






(a) Install the emission control valve set with the 2 nuts (A).
Torque: 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose (B).
(c) Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose (C).
(d) Connect the wire harness clamp (D).
(e) Connect the VSV connector (E).

9. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) Service and Repair

10. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Installation

11. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Installation

12. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

13. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

14. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

15. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL

16. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

17. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

19. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) Testing and Inspection

20. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Testing and Inspection
