Removal





A340E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: TRANSMISSION WIRE: REMOVAL

CAUTION:
When working with seal packing material, you must observe the following guidelines.

* Using a razor blade and gasket scraper, remove all the old seal packing material from the gasket surfaces.

* Thoroughly clean all components to remove all loose material.

* Clean both sealing surfaces with a non-residue solvent.

* Apply seal packing in an approximately 1 mm (0.04 in.) wide bead along the sealing surface.

* Parts must be assembled within 10 minutes of application. Otherwise, the seal packing material must be removed and reapplied.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

2. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

(a) Remove the drain plug, gasket and drain ATF.

(b) Install a new gasket and drain plug.

Torque : 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)

3. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

5. REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY Removal

6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION WIRE





(a) Disconnect the 4 connectors from each shift solenoid valve.

(b) Remove the bolt and the stopper plate from the case.





(c) Pull the solenoid wiring out of the transmission case.

(d) Remove the O-ring from the solenoid wiring.
