A750E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement
3. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID Removal
4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair
5. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Removal
6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) for Regular Cab Standard Deck:
Removal.
(b) except Regular Cab Standard Deck:
Removal.
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL REAR LH Removal
8. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY Removal
9. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE Removal
10. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR Removal
11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
12. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY Removal
13. REMOVE STARTER COVER (for 1.4 kW Type) Removal
14. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (for 1.4 kW Type) Removal
15. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY (for 1.6 kW Type) Removal
16. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SETTING BOLT
(a) Remove the flywheel housing side cover.
(b) Turn the crankshaft to gain access to the 6 bolts and remove each bolt while holding the crankshaft pulley setting bolt with a wrench.
17. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the nut and clip, and disconnect the transmission control cable.
18. SUPPORT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
Lift the transmission slightly from the crossmember.
19. REMOVE NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 bolts of the rear engine mounting insulator.
(b) Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers, 4 bolts and frame crossmember.
20. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting insulator from the transmission.
21. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground cable.
(b) Tilt the transmission downward.
NOTICE:
Make sure the cooling fan does not contact the fan shroud.
(c) Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector, transmission wire connector and 2 speed sensor connectors.
HINT
Detach the claw, press down the lever, and then disconnect the transmission wire connector.
(d) Disconnect the 4 connector clamps and 4 harness clamps.
(e) Remove the bolt and disconnect the harness clamp and wire harness.
22. DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the transmission oil cooler, and separate the by-pass pipe from the automatic transmission.
NOTICE:
Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the water by-pass hoses.
23. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 9 bolts and transmission.
NOTICE:
Do not use excess force when prying the transmission assembly.
24. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and transmission oil cooler with transmission oil cooler spacer.
(c) Remove the 3 bolts and separate the transmission oil cooler from the transmission oil cooler spacer.
(d) Remove the 2 O-rings.
25. REMOVE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 brackets.
26. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.
27. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
28. INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
