DESCRIPTION

* The ECM detects a cruise control switch signal and sends it to the combination meter through CAN. Then the CRUISE main indicator light comes on.

* The CRUISE main indicator light circuit uses CAN for communication. If there is a malfunction in this circuit, check for DTCs in the CAN communication system before troubleshooting this circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)

(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition to ON.

(c) Check for DTC.

Result:





NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM CAN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream main switch on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

(e) Check the CRUISE main indicator light by performing the Active Test.

Combination Meter





OK:

The indicator light blinks or goes off according to the Techstream operation.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream main switch on.

(d) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List.

(e) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the CRUISE main indicator light.

OK:

The display changes as shown above according to switch operation.

B -- REPLACE ECM (2GR-FE) Removal

C -- REPLACE ECM (1AR-FE) Removal
