Power Liftgate Latch

Removing

- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

- Remove the liftgate trim panel.

- Disconnect the power locking latch cable (1) from the exterior liftgate handle (2) and remove the cable from the handle.






- Disconnect the power liftgate latch electrical connector (1).






- Remove the latch screws (3) and remove the latch (2).

Installing

- If a new power liftgate latch is being installed, transfer the power locking latch cable from the original latch to the new latch.

- Position the power liftgate latch (2) into the liftgate and install the screws (3). Tighten the screws to 11 Nm (95 in lbs).






- Connect the latch electrical connector (1).

- Install the power locking latch cable (1) to the exterior liftgate handle (2) and connect the cable to the handle.






- Install the liftgate trim panel.

- Connect the negative battery cable.

- Verify liftgate alignment. Refer to => [ Liftgate Gap Specifications ] Liftgate.
