Seat Back Cover and Cushion


Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

Removing






- Remove the seat from the vehicle and place it on a workbench. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.

- Remove the seat back cover. Refer to => [ Seat Back ] Seat Back.

- Remove the armrest. Refer to => [ Armrest ] Armrest.

- Remove the headrest. Refer to => [ Headrest, MY 2009, 2011 ] Headrest, MY 2009, 2011.

- Remove the headrest sleeves. Refer to => [ Headrest Sleeve ] Headrest Sleeve.

- Disengage the five J hook retainers (1) securing the top and sides of the seat back cover (2) to the seat back frame (5).

- Disengage the seat back cover from the two metal tabs (4) located near the bottom of the seat back frame.

- Remove the seat back cover and the cushion (3) from the seat back frame as an assembly.






- Using a hooked tool (4), disengage the retaining strips (1) from the clips (3) that secure the seat back cushion cover (2) to the seat back cushion (5) and remove the cover.

Installing






- Position the seat cushion cover (2) to the seat cushion (5) and engage the strips (1) to the clips (3).






- Install the seat back cover (2) and cushion (3) onto the seat back frame (5) as an assembly.

- Engage the seat back cover to the two metal tabs (4) located near the bottom of the seat back frame.

- Engage the five J hook retainers (1) securing the top and sides of the seat back cover to the seat back frame.

- Install the headrest sleeves. Refer to => [ Headrest Sleeve ] Headrest Sleeve.

- Install the headrest. Refer to => [ Headrest, MY 2009, 2011 ] Headrest, MY 2009, 2011.

- Install the armrest. Refer to => [ Armrest ] Armrest.

- Install the seat back cover. Refer to => [ Seat Back ] Seat Back.

- Install the seat into the vehicle. Refer to => [ Seat ] Seat.
