Spark Plug
Removing
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.
• Prior to removing the ignition coil, use compressed air to blow around the ignition coil top in order to make sure no debris drops into the spark plug tube.
- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the ignition coil.
• Remove the ignition coil (3) by rotating the coil 1/2 turn and pulling straight up in a steady motion.
- Remove the ignition coil bolt (2) and ignition coil (3).
• Prior to removing the spark plug, use compressed air to blow out any debris that might be in the spark plug tube.
- Remove the spark plug using a quality socket with a foam insert.
Installing
Start each spark plug by hand in order to avoid cross threading and plug damage, use a quality socket with a foam insert.
- Install the spark plug. Tighten the plug to 27 Nm (20 ft lbs).
- Install the ignition coil (3) and bolt (2). Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (71 in lbs).
- Connect the wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the ignition coil (3).
- Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
