Shift Unit Overview
1 Shift Unit
• Consisting of the gear shift shaft and the gear shift cover.
• The components cannot be separated from each other.
2 Backup Lamp Switch (F4)
• 20 Nm
• Coat the tab lightly with MoS 2 grease.
3 Locking Pin
• For adjusting the shift mechanism.
• Removing, refer to => [ Removing the Locking Pin from the Gear Shift Cover ] Shift Unit.
• Installing, refer to => [ Pressing the Locking Pin into the Gear Shift Cover ] Shift Unit.
4 Relay Lever
• With a cable retainer.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Transmission Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Lubricate before installing, refer to => [ Relay Lever, Lubricating ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
5 Clip
• Secures the relay lever in the gear shift cover.
6 Seal
• Pry out with a screwdriver.
• Installing, refer to => [ Install the Seal Completely ] Shift Unit.
7 Nut
• 23 Nm
• Always replace.
• Self locking.
8 Transmission Shift Lever
• Insert so that the master spline aligns with the shift rod. Refer to => [ Installing the Transmission Shift Lever ] Shift Unit.
• Can be replaced with the gear shift unit still installed.
• Installed position, refer to=> [ Transmission Shift Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
9 Cap
• For transmission ventilation.
10 Sealing Cap
11 Spring
• Not installed in all transmissions.
• Install if present.
