Sealing Flange and Flywheel/Dual-Mass Flywheel/Drive Plate Assembly Overview

• Servicing clutch.





1 15 Nm

2 Seal

• Replacing, refer to => [ Crankshaft Seal, Belt Pulley Side ] Service and Repair.

• Do not oil

3 Sealing flange, front

• Must be located on dowel sleeves

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Front Sealing Flange ] Service and Repair

• Install with sealant; sealant.

4 Cylinder block

• Removing and installing crankshaft, refer to => [ Crankshaft, Component Overview ] Crankshaft, Component Overview

• Piston and connecting rod, disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Piston with Connecting Rod Component Overview ] Removal and Replacement

5 Flywheel/dual-mass flywheel/drive pate bolt

• Replace

• Dual mass flywheel tightening specifications => [ Tightening specification ] Service and Repair

• Flywheel tightening specification => [ Tightening specification ] Flywheel, Multitronic

• Drive plate tightening specifications => [ Tightening specification ] Drive Plate, Vehicles With Automatic Transmission 01V

6 Flywheel/dual-mass flywheel/drive plate

• Removing and installing the dual-mass flywheel on manual transmission vehicles, refer to => [ Dual Mass Flywheel, Manual Transmission ] Service and Repair

• Removing and installing the flywheel on Multitronic vehicles, refer to => [ Flywheel, Multitronic ] Flywheel, Multitronic

• Removing and installing the drive plate on vehicles with automatic transmission 01V, refer to => [ Drive Plate, Vehicles with Automatic Transmission 01V ] Drive Plate, Vehicles With Automatic Transmission 01V

7 Intermediate plate

• Must be located on dowel sleeves

• Do not damage or bend when doing assembly work

• Is hooked in at sealing flange => [ Installing intermediate plate ]

8 15 Nm

9 Rear sealing flange with sealing ring

• Replace completely, refer to => [ Rear Sealing Flange ] Rear Sealing Flange

• To install, use provided guide sleeve

• Do not lubricate or oil the sealing ring lip

• Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth

• The guide sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been pushed on the crankshaft journal
