Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure





1. With an assistant, remove the lid assembly (1). Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rear compartment trim. Refer to Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear (Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear) .
3. Remove the rear shelf trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the extension pin. Refer to Spring Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid Hinge (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the hinge strap retaining pin (2).
Discard the pin.
6. Remove the hinge strap (4).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hinge strap (4).
2. Install a new hinge strap retaining pin (2).
3. Install the rear shelf trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Install the extension spring. Refer to Spring Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid Hinge (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the rear compartment trim. Refer to Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear (Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear) .
6. With an assistant, install the lid assembly (1). Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
7. Inspect the rear compartment lid for proper alignment.
Align the lid as necessary. Refer toCompartment Lid Adjustment - Rear (Adjustments) .
