SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR: REMOVAL
HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
4. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR Removal
5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH (for LH Side) Removal
7. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH (for LH Side) Removal
8. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH (for RH Side) Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH (for RH Side) Removal
10. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY Removal
11. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
(a) Check that the engine switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
(c) Disconnect the connector from the front airbag sensor.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts.
NOTICE:
Loosen the bolt while holding the front airbag sensor because the front airbag sensor claws and pin (stopper) are easily damaged.
(e) Disengage the 2 claws and pin, and remove the front airbag sensor from the body.
