KEY INTERLOCK SYSTEM INSPECTION
Key Interlock System Inspection
1. Switch the ignition to ON.
2. Perform the following procedures to inspect the key interlock system.
- If there is any malfunction, inspect the key interlock solenoid and NOT P position switch.
a. Verify that the ignition cannot be switched to off when the selector lever is not in the P position.
b. Verify that the ignition can be switched to off when the selector lever is in the P position.
Key Interlock Solenoid Inspection
CAUTION:
- Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.
1. Disconnect the key interlock solenoid connector.
a. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
b. Remove the column cover. Service and Repair
c. Disconnect the key interlock solenoid connector.
2. Measure the resistance between key interlock solenoid terminals A and B.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the steering lock. With Advanced Keyless Entry And Push Button Start System Without Advanced Keyless Entry And Push Button Start System
Key interlock solenoid specification
- 22.95-28.05 ohms
NOT P Position Switch Inspection
CAUTION:
- Water or foreign objects entering the connector can cause a poor connection or corrosion. Be sure not to drop water or foreign objects on the connector when disconnecting it.
1. Disconnect the selector lever component connector.
a. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
b. Remove the rear console. Rear Console Removal/Installation
c. Disconnect the selector lever component connector.
2. Measure the continuity between selector lever component terminals G and K.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the selector lever component. Automatic Transaxle Shift Mechanism Removal/Installation
