STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
^ Disconnect the 12-volt battery negative terminal two minutes after turning Hybrid System OFF. During this period, do not open/close doors, nor step on the brake pedal.

The steering angle sensor is part of the spiral cable assembly and should not be disassembled. When replacing steering angle sensor, replace the spiral cable assembly and steering angle sensor as a unit.

CAUTION:
After erasing Brake ECU memories, perform zero adjustment of following sensors and initialization of linear solenoid valve. These procedures should be performed on a flat place.
^ Steering angle sensor. Refer to BRC-9, "PERFORM ZERO POINT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: Description". Testing and Inspection
^ Yaw rate/side. Refer to BRC-8, "PERFORM ZERO POINT OF YAW RATE/SIDE/DECEL G SENSOR: Description". Testing and Inspection
^ Brake stroke sensor. Refer to BRC-9, "PERFORM ADJUSTMENT OF STROKE SENSOR: Description". Perform Adjustment of Stroke Sensor
^ Linear solenoid valve. Refer to BRC-7, "PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE AND CALIBRATION: Description". Perform Initialization of Linear Solenoid Valve and Calibration
