Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)
• Measuring Container, Fuel Resistant
• Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions when working on the fuel system. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
• Always follow these rules before and during work.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.
- Loosen the hose clamps - arrow - and remove the fuel hose from the fuel rail.
- Seal the open fuel supply hose with a plug from the engine bung set (VAS 6122).
- Connect the hose - 2 - to the return connection for the fuel rail - 3 -.
- Keep the hose in the measuring container - 4 - in order to measure the return quantity.
- Start the engine and let it run for 30 seconds (sec.) at idle.
• Target value in 30 seconds: 90 to 110 milliliters (mL)
If the specified value is not attained, then the fuel pressure regulator valve is faulty.
