Front Seat Backrest Cover and Cushion

Removing

• Removing and installing the components is described for the left seat. Removing and installing the components from the right seat is identical.

• Removing and installing is shown as an example and applies to all equipment lines.

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Remove the front seat. Refer to => [ Front Seat ] Front Seat

- Attach the seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove the front seat belt latch. Refer to => [ Front Seat Belt Latches ] Front Seat Belt Latches

- Remove the trim on the tunnel side. Refer to => [ Tunnel Side Trim ] Tunnel Side Trim

Passenger Seat without Height Adjustment

- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] Backrest Adjusting Wheel

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim, Passenger Seat without Height Adjustment ] Door Sill Side Trim, Passenger Seat without Height Adjustment

Passenger Seat with Pass-Through

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim, Passenger Seat with Pass-Through ] Door Sill Side Trim, Passenger Seat with Pass-Through

Front Seats with Manual Height Adjustment

- Remove the backrest adjustment wheel. Refer to => [ Backrest Adjusting Wheel ] Backrest Adjusting Wheel

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim, Front Seats with Manual Height Adjustment ] Door Sill Side Trim, Front Seats with Manual Height Adjustment

Power driver seat

- Remove the trim on the door sill side. Refer to => [ Door Sill Side Trim, Power Driver Seat ] Door Sill Side Trim, Power Driver Seat

- Disconnect the two harness connectors for the backrest drives underneath the seat frame. Remove the harness connectors from the seat frame.

All seats

- Cut the mesh hose cable tie and pull the harness connector belt lock through it.

- Remove the backrest. Refer to => [ Backrest ] Backrest

- Attach the backrest to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Remove the lumbar adjustment lever, if equipped. Refer to => [ Lumbar Adjustment Lever ] Lumbar Adjustment Lever

- Remove the backrest and folding table, if equipped. Refer to => [ Backrest Folding Table ] Backrest Folding Table

- Press the release button and pull the headrest out of the backrest.

- Release profile - 1 - from mount - 2 -.






- Roll the cover upward.






- On vehicles with heated seats, guide the wiring harness - 1 - through the opening in the cushion.

- Cut through the four upholstery clips - arrows -.

- Fold the cover farther up and cut through the next two upholstery clips.

- Remove the right and left clip on the back side of the backrest with release tool (T10236) - 1 -.






- Remove the right and left mounting strap - 2 - from the backrest frame.

- Fold the cover further upward and using a small screwdriver, pry the cover profile out of the mounts in the cushion - arrows -.






- Fold the cover further upward and remove the remaining cushion cover mounts.

- Pull the cover over both headrest guides and remove it from the backrest frame.

- Pull the cushion - 1 - up over both headrest guides and remove it from the backrest frame - 2 -.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

Passenger Seat with Pass-Through

• When installing the cushion on the backrest frame, pay attention to the cable guide cover.

• The mounting strap on the door sill side may be close only after the seat heating wiring harness has be installed.
