Removal

1GR-FE COOLING: WATER PUMP: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement

2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

3. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE INLET Removal

4. REMOVE RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET Removal

5. REMOVE FAN SHROUD Removal

6. DISCONNECT AIR TUBE

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the air tube.





7. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING

(a) Disconnect the throttle body connector.

(b) Disconnect the 5 water by-pass hoses.





(c) Disconnect the oil cooler hose.

(d) Disconnect the No. 2 oil cooler hose.

(e) Remove the 5 bolts and water inlet.





(f) Remove the O-ring from the water outlet pipe.

(g) Remove the gasket from the water pump.

8. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) for Separate Type:

Remove the 2 bolts, 2 idler pulley cover plates, 2 No. 2 idler pulleys and 2 No. 2 idler pulley cover plates.

(b) for Integrated Type:

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 No. 2 idler pulleys.

9. DISCONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Detach the wire harness clamp.

(c) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the vane pump.





10. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

11. DISCONNECT COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

12. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Removal

13. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 17 bolts, water pump and gasket.
