Lower Left Intake Manifold

Removing

CAUTION!
Follow the guidelines for a clean working environment when working on the fuel system. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions and Fuel System Work Instructions ] Clean Working Conditions and Fuel System Work Instructions.

Always follow these rules before and during work.

- Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- Carefully remove the intake flap motor 2 (V275) connecting rod - arrow -.





- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and then remove the intake flap motor 2 - 4 -.

- Disconnect the glow plug connectors from cylinders 4, 5 and 6.

- Remove the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler switch over valve (N345) - 1 - from the bracket.





- Remove the bolt - 4 -.

- Remove the lower intake manifold bolts - arrows -.





- Loosen the clamp - arrow - and remove the EGR pipe - 1 -.





- Carefully remove the lower intake manifold.

Seal the intake passages in the cylinder head using clean cloths.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Intake Manifold Overview ] Description and Operation.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Replace seals and O-rings.

- Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- High pressure line, installing. Refer to => [ High Pressure Fuel Lines, Installing ] Service and Repair.

- Inspect the fuel system for leaks. Refer to => [ Fuel System, Performing Leak Test ] Fuel System, Performing Leak Test.
