Lower Right Intake Manifold

Removing

CAUTION!
Follow the guidelines for a clean working environment when working on the fuel system. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions and Fuel System Work Instructions ] Clean Working Conditions and Fuel System Work Instructions.

Always follow these rules before and during work.

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to => [ Remove the engine cover. First
pull the cover forward and then pull it upward ] Engine, Removing.

- Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the high pressure line protective plate.





- Loosen the union fittings - 1 and 4 - and remove the high pressure line.

Ignore - Items 2 and 3 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler pump (V400).





- Remove the bolts - 1 -.

- Remove the connectors - 1 and 2 - from the bracket.





- Disconnect the connector - 3 - from the intake flap motor (V157).





- Remove the bolts - 4 -.

Ignore - 2 -.

- Disconnect the glow plug connectors for cylinders 1, 2 and 3.

- Press the electrical wiring harness to the side.

- Remove the lower intake manifold bolts - arrows -.





- Press the coolant pipe to the side and remove the lower intake manifold.

Ignore - Item 1 -.

Seal the intake passages in the cylinder head using clean cloths.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Intake Manifold Overview ] Description and Operation.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Replace the seals and O-rings.

- Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to => [ Upper Intake Manifold ] Upper Intake Manifold.

- High pressure lines, installing. Refer to => [ High Pressure Fuel Lines, Installing ] Service and Repair.

- Inspect the fuel system for leaks. Refer to => [ Fuel System, Performing Leak Test ] Fuel System, Performing Leak Test.
