DESCRIPTION

w/o Multi-display:

The combination meter detects the state of the front seat inner belt assembly RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel assembly blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

w/ Multi-display:

The combination meter detects the state of the front seat inner belt assembly RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the clock assembly blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION

(a) Check the vehicle condition.

Result:





B -- INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG RH)
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FOR DTCS

(a) Clear the DTCs Multiplex Communication System.

(b) Recheck for DTC.

(c) Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

B -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) Multiplex Communication System

C -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) Fail-Safe Chart

D -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) Airbag System

E -- GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) Occupant Classification System
A -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG RH)

(a) Remove the ECU-IG RH fuse from the main body ECU RH (cowl side junction block RH).

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".

B -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLOCK ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER)

C -- REPLACE GATEWAY ECU

D -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RH - BODY GROUND)
A -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the J54 integration control and panel assembly connector.





(b) Disconnect the J35 combination meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

Standard Voltage










NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the integration control and panel assembly with the connector still connected Removal.





(b) Apply battery voltage from the wire harness back side between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the front passenger side seat belt warning light.

Standard:





NG -- REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal

7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLOCK ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the J98 clock assembly connector.





(b) Disconnect the J35 combination meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





Standard Voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK CLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clock assembly with the connector still connected Removal.





(b) Apply battery voltage from the wire harness back side between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the front passenger side seat belt warning light.

Standard:





NG -- REPLACE CLOCK ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal

9. REPLACE GATEWAY ECU

(a) Replace the gateway ECU Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

10. CHECK PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check that the passenger seat belt warning light operates normally Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

OK:

The front passenger seat belt warning light normally operates.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Removal

OK -- END

11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT RH - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the J35 combination meter connector.





(b) Disconnect the T3 front seat inner belt assembly RH connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

12. INSPECT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD)

(a) Remove the occupant detection sensor (separate type front seat cushion pad) Removal.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR (SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION PAD)

OK -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Removal
