2UR-GSE LUBRICATION: OIL PUMP: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

5. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

Service Precautions

6. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER

9. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

10. DRAIN ENGINE OIL Replacement

11. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

12. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID Removal

13. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

14. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

16. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

Removal

17. REMOVE BATTERY Removal

18. REMOVE NO. 1 BATTERY TRAY SUPPORT

19. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal

20. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY Removal

21. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET Removal

22. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER Removal

23. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Remove the 3 connectors and connector clamp.





(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and disconnect the No. 4 connector holder.





(c) Disconnect the 5 connectors and grommet from the engine room ECU box.





(d) Disconnect the 8 connectors and 3 clamps.





(e) Disconnect the 5 connectors and 7 clamps.





(f) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 ground wires.

(g) Remove the No. 1 engine room relay block cover.

(h) Remove the bolt, and disconnect the ground cable.





(i) Remove the bolt, and disconnect the clamp and ground cable.

30. SEPARATE COMPRESSOR AND PULLEY Removal

31. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY Removal

32. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

33. REMOVE OIL PUMP DRIVE SHAFT PULLEY

(a) Using SST, hold the oil pump drive shaft pulley.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts and oil pump drive shaft pulley.

40. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

41. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY Removal

42. REMOVE NO. 4 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

43. REMOVE NO. 3 V-BANK COVER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

44. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT Disassembly

45. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and oil filter bracket stay.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and oil filter bracket sub-assembly.





(c) Remove the 2 gaskets from the oil filter bracket sub-assembly.

46. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY Removal

47. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR KEY Removal

48. REMOVE TIMING GEAR CASE OR TIMING CHAIN CASE OIL SEAL Removal

49. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Bank 1) Disassembly

50. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) Removal

51. REMOVE SPARK PLUG TUBE GASKET Disassembly

52. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY Disassembly

53. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH (for Bank 1) Disassembly

54. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING CONTROL MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH (for Bank 2) Disassembly

55. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 30 bolts and nut shown in the illustration.





(b) Remove the timing chain cover by prying between the timing chain cover and cylinder head and cylinder block with a screwdriver as shown in the illustration.





NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cylinder head, cylinder block and chain cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Remove the oil pump gasket from the cylinder block.





(d) Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.





56. REMOVE INLET WATER PIPE

(a) Remove the inlet water pipe.





(b) Remove the 2 O-rings from the inlet water pipe.

57. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL PIPE Removal

58. REMOVE NO. 2 OIL PIPE Removal

59. REMOVE NO. 3 OIL PIPE Removal

60. REMOVE SCAVENGING PUMP ASSEMBLY Removal
